]]>Anyhow, once on the bus it was better, we got off at circular quay and started walking up towards the centre, we went in every bar on the way, but that was only two we walked around for ages and couldnt find anywhere open!! hmmm!!! So we walked back down to circular Quay in the freezing cold rain, at this point we were very annoyed and i was ready to go home! But... then we found 'Jacksons on George Street', which was just the best club ever, it had food in one room, an outdoor seating area, a sports room in the back, downstairs was a Casino and Upstairs was a club, and it was free to get in, we needent move... ever!! So first we tried watching the Rugby, Australia vs New Zealand but we didnt get it, so we went for some food. We went downstairs to the casino next, but it was too complex so we went upstairs to the club!! We were sat down literally two minutes when this very drunken guy comes and sits next to us. He was soooo drunk, but he was a funny Australian, he was telling us that he came over to England and that he hated it, that the English were all Thievin Bastards, and that he was astonished that these guys stole a crate of beer, haha, he was so mad about it!! I think he kept forgetting about us being English because he asked where we came from about 5 times, nevermind... After he had finished talking to us... which was a LONG time, he introduced us to this old man who they referred to as 'Ned Kelly', he was old, and had a beard and reminded me of a tramp we had passed early on that night, but nevermind. So this guy started talking, and talking and talking and we listened... for two hours!! He told us lots of crazy things that we thought were just ramblings of an old drunken man, but nope... all facts, we learnt about:
[*]Crocodile Harry - he told us about this guy that lives in a cave in Cooga Peedy in a cave and was once a crocodile hunter but now he sits in his cave and people pay him $2 to talk to him and he has womans underwear on his ceiling, we so just didnt believe him, but if you google it, he actually does exist!! crazy!
[*]Woody the One-Armed Golfer - Haha, apparantly one of his friends was a one armed golfer who was ranked 11th in the world... of one arm-golfers, but he told us, before bursting into laughter that Woody was annoyed that he was 11th and he said he should have been 3rd and it was due to the fact that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer whilst the trials were on... he found this hilarious!
[*]Gropers and Stone Fish - He had loads of tales to tell us about crazy fish in the barrier reef, these included (apparantly) these HUGE fish with gigantic lips which are really grumpy, he said if you got on the wrong side of a groper, well... it wasnt good, he explained after i asked if they killed u, that gropers dont have teeth, and they're not very intelligent so they gobble you up then spit you back out, whether this is true or not we're yet to discover, but Gropers exist!! He also told us about stone fish, sea snakes, that we was allergic to sea wasps! and flys! god he talked a lot!
[*]He also taught us how to throw a boomerang, and told us of his collection of boomerangs in his house, haha! now we know the difference between a good thrower and a bad thrower! get us! we've yet to throw one, but we aim to do this in Cairns.
After that we were desperate to leave, seriously he was such a nice guy, a geniunely nice, intelligent guy but we were bored and meant to be clubbing and we hadnt moved in two hours, so when he stopped for breath we made our excuses and left, but this meant we had to leave the club, so after this we went home, it was still cold and still raining so we were desperate for our bed. We missed the last train by 30 seconds, we saw it drive off, and thats after we'd bought a ticket, so in the centre of sydney, at 1am not knowing where the hell we were slightly tipsy we had to go to a cash machine, this involved a few wrong pin numbers and get a taxi home! We were soooo cold by the time we got home, so we turned to old faithfulls our hoodys and silly dog socks and a dressing gown! Perfect!!!

]]>It cost $169 dollars to do the climb, and you got to choose whether you wanted to do a night or a day climb, we chose night, so we had to be there for 5:45pm. But just before we were setting off there was an electrical storm, we thought it would be cancelled, but we were assured it wouldnt be. So we set off.
We got to the Bridgeclimb place and checked in for our climb, its actually like your getting on a plane. We had to sit and watch this cheesy video before going into a room where they made us fill in a disclaimer form. Well after that they gave us our uniforms, there was lots of it, a sexy boiler suit, waterproof pants, a harness, a radio, a hanky, a fleece, a waterproof coat and i had to have braces coz my harness kept falling down! Well after that we had to be trained on how to climb the bridge, so had to go on a fake bridge and learn the rules of the bridgeclimb... was easy so we set off!!
Once you were on the bridge, it was just amazing, u had to walk underneath the bridge first like on the supports, then climb up the ladders through two lanes of traffic, which was a bit scary and up to the arch of the bridge! By this time it was around 7pm and it was dark, the lights over sydney were amazing, and the view was just stunning, worth the money when we'd just got on the bridge!!
So we carried on up the arch, and the tour guide was telling us about the history of things on the way up, some interesting facts like the opera house weighs 3 times more than the harbour bridge! we carried on and as we got nearer the tops we started to see birds circling the bridge, the guide told us that moths flock to the bridge at night because of the lights, and the birds come up to get there tea, they were that close that you could see the bird catch the moth, ace! We got to the top and the view was just spectacular, Ashley wished he had his camera but your not allowed to take anything on the bridge, in case u drop it and kill someone i dont suppose.
So we got to the top and had our picture taken. We crossed over the bridge and started to descend on the other arch. This time we passed through two train tracks, but no train came.
I'm sorry if this is boring, but you can't get accross how good it was, the view was just the best, you got right on top near the australian flags, and the guide told us all the amazing facts about how many bolts there were (6 million) and how many people died and that they built it without harnesses or safety equipment! She also told us that Luna Park, which is just accross the Harbour was actually given to the residents of Sydney as a sorry for all the noise that the making of the bridge caused... bet they're not bothered now they have that view! And when we got chatting they also told us that all the steel to make the bridge actually came from Middlesborough!
Well we descended the bridge and got back to the training place, two hours after we set off. We took all our equipment off and went to get our pictures... well they were terrible, i dont know whether it was the wind, but we both looked stoned on every one, i had my eyes shut on them all, so we didnt buy any, we got our complimentary pictures, but that wasnt much better! We walked back along the harbour and looked up at the bridge, it was huge! Hard to imagine we'd just been to the top of it!!
We were hungry at this point so we set off walking to a 'Night Noodle Market' but after a 30 minute walk it was closed!! We walked around Sydney for a while, saw some clubs that looked ace, but dont think they would have let us in in our hoodies so we headed home, before going to pizza hut for some tea. Tonight was ace!! The Bridgeclimb is really worth doing, something we'll remember forever, so well worth it! And we've been inspired to go out in Sydney tomorrow night, so that should be good too! x

]]>(getting comfy involved us wearing our cringeworthy matching hoodies, head turbans (mine because my hair was wet, Ashleys because he'd seen it on Ray Mears so he decided to have a go) and the ridiculous dog socks which my mum bought me from cornwall, Ashley loves them..i'm still unsure!!
On Thursday we decided that we had to go out and so decided to go to Watson's Bay, but when we got to Circular Quay we were lured into an Italian Restaurant in The Rocks by the smell, We had Bruschetta and Garlic Bread to Start and then Ashley had Tagliatelle with bacon and i had Spaghetti Marinara, and it was like the best food ever!!! Was soooooooooo Good!! After that and feeling ridiculously full we headed to the shops and bought presents for Stefan, Vicky, Brendan and Sally. After this we went back to the Harbour and had fat man ice creams, which were good even if we were a bit full. And that was basically it, we headed home, and we still havent been to Watson's Bay!!
Well i have to apologise for our uneventful days and our dull blogs, bt we have the Bridge Climb to look forward too!!

28th November - fly to Singapore from Cairns 13:55pm
4th December - fly to Bangkok from Singapore 22:30pm
27th December - fly to London from Bangkok 00:35am (bit of a poop time)
28th December - Fly to Manchester from London
Soooo.... we're home a LOT earlier than we thought, away for Xmas but home for new year and we come home on my Mums Birthday, so a nice/bad present... plus Ashley points out... "Our xmas shopping in Thailand will be well cheap, like a tenner for the lot" which is also good!!
So having our flights sorted we didnt have much left to do, just accomodation for singapore and thailand and changing the insurance. Well... later on we Booked some accomodation in Singapore for 6 nights, and it looks soooooo nice... click the link below to have a look:
The Hotel In Singapore
So we're pretty much sorted, we've emailed the insurance people for a quote and to see if we could upgrade or something, and we've emailed people about accomodation in Thailand. We also spoke to someone today about whether Thailand was safe, and we were told that it was fine! that lots of tourists visit each year and that it was perfectly safe! So mum, Stop Worrying!!
Some Pictures from today are on the link below:: (look for Ashley with the weird chicken man and me in my new hoody and Ugg Boots, I refused to take them off even when i got home - gonna sleep in them!)

]]>After looking for apartments and hotels for about 5 hours we remembered it was my birthday! yey! and Ashleys Dad had said we could go for a meal with the credit card, yey!!! So we did, we went to an italian in Bondi Beach, i had gnocchi and Ashley had Calzone and we had choc mousse! was sooooo nice!! So Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou to Tony, because without that meal it would have been a pretty poop boring birthday! :o)
So on the way home from our meal we were pretty happy, and in a bit of a silly mood so we took some random pictures of us tryna be skallies, because australia doesnt have any!! so we thought we'd bring a bit of the manc culture to Bondi, it didnt work, we didnt make such convincing townies! nevermind!

]]>Oh, and i feel i have to explain the strange story ashley mentioned above. Well... what happened, we decided we'd go and sit on the grass hill in the gardens which overlooks the harbour, it looked pretty calm and sereen, it wasnt!! We sat down and it didnt take long before this crazy bird flew over and missed our heads by a millimetre (i may exaggerate, but it was close). we were scared, and then, it did it again, but was closer! We started laughing, i was more scared than ashley, because this bird had a sharp beak, and he was hiding behind me! So we watched it fly off then all of a sudden it flew down and hit a japanese girl in the face and then she fell over ( well we're not to sure if it hit her, but there was a crack then she fell over, so we're presuming) Well... we couldnt stop laughing, well until the bird came back and like flew close to us again, then we just ran! we went to get an ice-cream after this, to calm our nerves! hehe! x

]]>We decided that we were going to go to Manly, which is a famous beach, the closest to Sydney and where all the surfer dudes hang out... kool! we had to get a ferry to get there, it took thirty minutes, and when we got there it was very hot! we walked down the main street to the beach, which is HUGE, and really nice, so clean and packed, even at about 10:30 in the morning. Seriously, in Sydney, EVERYONE surfs, theres old people in there 60's surfing, seriously, and like little kids, we saw two little girls carrying mini pink surf boards who were about six, so good, even fat people surf! So feeling a bit jealous because we lacked this talent we went to sit on the beach and just watch. Ashley began to moan so we went shopping. And Manly is FULL of surf dude shops, Roxy, Quicksilver, Billabong, Surfection, of which we are now regulars!
After a wee bit of shopping we headed back on the ferry and decided to try and suss out city centre shopping, we headed into town on the train (because today we bought a red travel pass which gives us unlimited travel on bus, ferry and train, so we're getting our moneys worth) but still we could not get where the main shopping centre is! Sydney Centre is that big that you get lost and end up going in circles around the block, today we got lost in chinatown... again, we just cant seem to get it, hence why we like to stay at circular quay, so much calmer and nicer!
So after we'd failed to shop again, we headed home on the train and bus on our pass, Tomorrow we have our training day, and it doesnt finish till nine, we havent stayed awake past like 7:30 yet, so it will be hard, maybe impossible, will let you know!
Oh and today was the first day i've been sun-burnt, oops.. gonna make sure i put LOADS on tomorro
P.S Sorry... no pictures, Ashleys Batteries have run out, and although i love pictures, im not at snap happy as Ashley, so probably my fault! x

]]>After that we went for some lunch in Bakers Oven, with a dutch guy who was really shocked that i had milk in my tea and then nearly died when i asked for extra, and he saw how much i had in tea!
We then went to the rocks shops which were pretty touristy, but tacky tourist things are funny so we searched them in hope of presents funny enough to send home, we kind of suceeded. It was now around 2pm so Ashley left me alone to go to his interview, but he wasnt long and by about ten past he was back out again. He cameout smiling which i guessed was a good sign, he told me he'd got the job and that the guy was kool, (again) the money was good and the hours were flexible, sounded perfect, so when he told me that the guy said that i could have a job if i wanted i thought i should. This way we'd both be together and have shifts off together and not be left alone at night on our own, so sounded good. So i picked up the forms and we both had jobs, first thing was a training day on Thursday.
After that we were very happy, so we decided to celebrate by eating ice-cream. We went to a shop where there was a big fat jolly ice cream man, who was a very happy chappy. we got talking to him, and he told us that he knew Palm Cove, the place we were going to next, and he told us it was unbelievable, that it was a gorgeous part of the world, so that was good, and the ice-cream was good too! We sat and ate the ice cream watching boats come in and out of the harbour and listening to a crazy opera Guy.
After that we decided we were too happy to go home so got on a ferry to Darling Harbour, on which Ashley noticed an angle of the Harbour bridge that he had not yet captured, so he had to get that, but i dont think its going to win any prizes!
Thank God the battery Ran out or there would have been more...
Darling Harbour's pretty cute, its like a small version of sydney harbour, with loads of shops, not many good ones and loads of good bars and restaurants. We picked up a few brochures to pick my Birthday cruise from and then headed home.
At home we watched Simpsons, family guy and futurama, because now i think we're addicted, and then we fell asleep... perfect!

]]>At 4 O'clock i got ready to leave, she put me on the rota for next week and insisted that i take some food home... i had a sandwich with eggplant on it, i felt obliged to try it! We walked home and Ashley told me that he had spoke to a guy (who he tells me was really kool) and he had an interview at the harbour tomorrow. So all was going good, i had a job, Ashley nearly had a job and we had free gourmet eggplant sandwiches, what could be better?! Oh... what is better is that Ashleys mission to find a cheese grater was successful, even if it did cost $5 and it is a hand held one! (we decided, that for that price, we were bringing the grater home and we'd flip a coin to see who got to keep it to take to university!) So all is good, and when we sort out our hours we're gonna book some Surf lessons, yey, cept i might wimp out and just do bodyboarding! xx
Today wasnt a very interesting day, and ashley clearly didnt see a winning picture at the shopping centre so no photos were taken! x

]]>So, we were in Sydney, and well after this we didnt have a plan. We had to go to the bank, and a medicare office, ashley assured me 'we'll probably just pass the bank and run into a medicare office' at this point i wasnt too sure, being about twenty times the size of manchester and we cant even find our way around that! So, we set off, i dont know what too but we must have walked around the same block about 3 times. In Sydney, the amount of people is just unbelievable, you kind of get swept along with the crowd and if you want to go the opposite way, well... tough!
We decided that the best way to see the city would be on a monorail, but it wasnt, for a brief second we forgot about blending in and rushed for our cameras to capture the sights of sydney, after about a minute we realised that no good pictures were coming from this, as we were seeing the sights of backs of shops, pretty poor. Well, we finally got off the monorail at the city centre and decided it was about time to find the bank, which apparantly is not even a bank, but level 2 in a skyscraper where travellers are packed into a room trying to find jobs and open bank accounts.
By the time we had sorted the bank account out we were very hungry and pretty cranky, so we went for some food and then come to the conclusion that we should head out of the city centre and go see the harbour. This was the best idea we'd had all day. The harbour is completely different to the city centre, so calm, the views are just amazing! At the harbour it was quiet, people were lying on the grass, eating ice cream, watching the huge boats come in and out. We just stood for ages watching the boats and looking at the opera house and the bridge, and they actually look ten times better in real life. Again we ditched the whole blending in with the locals and whipped out the cameras, at which ashley tried for about half an hour to get a picture of both of us with the bridge and opera house in, finally, thank god, he did! After this we were pretty tired so we decided we'd head home, and in half an hour in rush hour traffic we were home, so good, we're so close to the centre!!
When we got home, our phone was ringing, a lady asked for me, and well, offered me a trial at a sandwich shop on monday and said that if i liked it that she'd put me on the rota from wednesday, what can i say, my talent shines on, and i can impress australia with my wealth of sandwich making abilities. Great!
Well... i take it back, by half six we were in bed asleep, it seems we still haven't conquered jet lag! hmmmm xx

By this time (1pm) we were tired, so we thought we'd have an hours nap, we woke up at 7pm, so the jet-lag was not going great. So excited, and looking forward to the next two weeks, my mum and dad and brother have gone on holiday and come back the day before we leave, so not much time with them, also got a lot of meals coming up, with Ashleys mum and Dad, Ashleys Nan and Grandad and My Mum and Dad, Cant wait!
Anyhow, the next time i write i should be livin' it up in Australia!!! Gonna miss lots and lots of people, but hope people will keep in touch!

]]>Our Plan is to stay in Australia for around 11 months, allowing us time to sort out university when we get home. We plan to stay in Sydney for three months, allowing us to spend Christmas on the Beach in Bondi and New Years Eve watching the fireworks on Sydney Harbour.
Next we plan to fly to Cairns where we've booked an apartment close to the beach. We want to do loads of watersports whilst in Cairns, diving in the great barrier reef, swimming with wild dolphins, and learning to surf whilst trying our best to avoid the numerous deadly creatures!
We haven't completely decided the next part of our journey, we have booked to fly home from Perth, so we're going to spend at least one month there. On our way Home, we're visiting Hong Kong and spending four nights there.
Although its only eight weeks away from us leaving we still have so much to sort out. We still haven't managed to get visas... which is worrying, and haven't booked any travel insurance, due to lack of funds...
But, we're getting there, and with only two months to go, i'm so excited! can't wait!
